Retention

Files expire when their retention window passes; an hourly sweep deletes them from storage and the index.

• Set retention per type (image / video / audio / other) in the dashboard: Storage → Settings. Allowed values: 7, 30, 90, 180, 365 days, or no expiry.
• Exempt a single file at upload with retentionExempt=true, or toggle it later on the file’s dashboard page. Exempt files never expire.
• Log retention is separate and set by plan — see Logging overview.

Status: per-team retention settings ship with the dashboard (chat 3); until then all types default to no expiry.
